Analog Love

A friend recently let me borrow his
Lomo LC-A+ and Diana F+.
It took a little bit to get used to shooting film again.
I'd forgotten how fun it is to get your
pictures back and see what came out.
No editing, no peaking.
Just point and shoot.
See what happens.
Happy accidents.
Cheers.

Intro to Sikh Americans

More pictures from the Sikh parade in KC.
I'm still not sure what they were celebrating
but whatever it was
the party lasted long into the night.
Looked like fun.
Any parade with beards, swords, and bright colors
is alright with me.
Cheers.

Sweet Footware

While I was up in KC a parade made its way
through the neighborhood.
The local Sikh temple was celebrating something.
Never found out what.
Most people were barefooted
but this guy was sporting a sweet pair of shoes.
I wish I had a pair of those.
Cheers.

The New Addition

Went on a small vacation last week.
Me, the girl, and both dogs.
All the way to Kansas City.
Everyone but mom.
My brother's first baby was born last Wednesday.
Harrison William.
Got a chance to snap a few pictures once everyone got home.
Beautiful family.
Glad to have been a small part
of the experience.
Cheers.

Hope to shoot some more formal stuff later.
Cheers.

Renewal in the Flint Hills

Drove through the Flint Hills today.
They were burning.
It is one of my favorite times of the year.
The fires burn off the dead grass and scrub trees
and the hills are renewed within a few days.
Miles and miles of new green grass.
Beautiful.
The Lord's yearly creation is a wonderful thing.
Not sure the pictures out my car window
do it justice.
Cheers.

The girl and I ate at Chuys today for lunch.
It is one of our favorite places.
Great food
great atmosphere.
Cheers.

Antique Fire Engine

Came across this old fire engine on Sam Bass Rd.
Not sure where it is from
or why it is there.
Glad I found it though.
Cheers.

Round Rock Cemetery

I spent some time in Round Rock Cemetery today.
Walked around and took in the history.
Met a wonderful elderly woman named Irene.
She took some time to talk with me about the cemetery.
Apparently there has been some vandalism here lately.
It is a shame that people feel the need to destroy 100+ year old tombstones.
Senseless.
That aside, it was rather relaxing.
Been playing around with some more HDR processing.
Cheers.

Dovecote

Not much today.
Been playing around with HDR image stuff.
Pictured is a dovecote from Mayfield Park
here in Austin.
Cheers.

Family Shoot - San Gabriel Park pt.2

I'm up too late again.
Wasn't at home for most of the day.
Now I'm editing photos late at night.
Oh well.
There are worse things.
Here are a couple more shots from the latest family shoot.
Back to work.
Cheers.

Saturday Night Out With Friends.

We had a great time at Phara's last night.
A very Austin take on Mediterranean food.
We had the pleasure of dining in the Sultan's Room.
Low tables and chairs.
Lots of pillows.
Good food, good people.
Hummus, belly dancing, beer.
Awesome.
Cheers.
